We think we have time.
We think we will finally take the trip when the kids are older. We will slow down once the mortgage is done. We’ll enjoy life when we get a better job, a better pay, or when things settle down.
But for most of us, we often get caught up in life and forget that the clock is still ticking… then suddenly it’s almost out.
On average, we get 80 summers — if we’re very, very fortunate. But more likely, we only get about 18 summers with our kids at home. Maybe 10 real vacations as a whole family. And just a few dozen weekends that sometimes turn into lifelong memories.
The rest ?
They quickly disappear into that “someday.”
Someday we’ll go. Someday we’ll rest.
Someday we’ll live.
The waiting for someday slowly turns to months, then years.
DO that last-minute road trip.
Watch the sunset even if the dishes are piled up.
Take the walk, hop on the ride, wander for the moments. Before it all suddenly passes.
Money? Can always earn again. But Time? When the sun slowly sets, you wish you could have every second of it all over again.
